The Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge was built in 1911 and is one of very few still working in the world. It carries both foot passengers and cars between Middlesbrough on the south bank of the Tees and Port Clarence on the north bank.
The Transporter Bridge celebrated its centenary in September 2011
